Getting Over Anxiety Depression

Anxiety Depression can occur when a person engages in various multi-tasking activities and they also tend to over extend their brains, up to the point when it plainly needs some time for physical relaxation. A lot of busy people who cannot fathom the idea of relaxing and taking time off from work, as well as their worries, can actually start having nervous breakdowns, anxiety depression and all sorts of mental illnesses.

Anxiety depression is characterized by erratic behavior from the person who is suffering from it, this is usually due to certain stress triggers that may cause a person undue jitters and stress. Also, a lot of people who tend to get easily nervous over stressful activities are actually prone to having anxiety depression. Anxiety depression can be difficult to deal with, however, it is best to do so in the early stages and in order to do this a person should begin by calming down and breathing slowly, both of which will work to lesson any negative effects.

To successfully treat this type of mental illness, a person will need to be completely honest with themselves first and then find a highly recommended psychiatrist that is qualified to diagnose you correctly and then prescribe the best treatment that will improve your health. There are many different levels or categories of depression:

Bipolar or Manic depression is usually characterized by a person having sudden extreme mood changes or intense dramatic changes from and elated ’high’ to a depressing ’low’ mental state, in just a matter of a few minutes, days or weeks.

Postpartum depression – characterized by a prolonged sadness or a feeling of emptiness by a new mother after the physical stresses of having a newborn, and many new moms can feel happy one minute and sad the next.

Dysthimia is a mood disorder that falls within the depression spectrum, it is considered a chronic depression, but with less severity than a major depression and this disorder tends to be a chronic, long-lasting illness.

Cyclothemia – is a mental disorder consider to be like a milder form of bipolar II disorder consisting of recurrent mood disturbances between hypomania and Dysthimia mood.

SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder, also known as ’winter depression’; which is a mood disorder whose sufferers experience normal mental health throughout most of the year, but experience depressive symptoms usually in the winter and often or less in the Summer.

However, the most common form of depression people experience is; Anxiety Depression, and it is exemplified by being in the mind set given to undue stress, fear or worry about situations. Anxiety, a supposedly normal behavior that will actually help a person adjust more to a certain stressful activity, like first date jitters or a grueling exam the following day. In this way, anxiety will help you get mentally prepared to face more challenging situations that are not usually a part of your daily routine. Anxiety depression is the opposite, and should not be easily dismissed as a “case of the nerves”; anxiety depression is in actuality an illness that can be caused from the biological makeup of an individual, or in other words, a hereditary illness.

You should also know, that there are different types of anxiety depression and they each have different symptoms. Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is an anxiety disorder that is characterized by excessive, uncontrollable and often irrational worry about everyday things that is disproportionate; this excessive worry often interferes with daily functioning, as individuals suffering GAD typically anticipate disaster, and are overly concerned about everyday matters such as health issues, money, family problems, friend problems or work difficulties. They can even be anxious even when there’s no apparent reason that calls for them to behave in such a way. People suffering from Generalized Anxiety Disorder actually shows a lot of symptoms, from lack of sleep, to being unable to relax, getting tired easily, cannot concentrate on what they’re doing and even suffering from depression. Treatment involves a therapist working with the patient to understand how thoughts and feelings influence behavior and change negative thought patterns that lead to the patient’s anxiety, replacing them with positive, more realistic ones.

Consult a reputable cognitive behavior therapist who’ll help give the individual the therapy that he or she needs to help him or her loosen up, also prescribed medicines are sort of a must to help these individuals battle anxiety attacks, then help to calm them down and relax.

Taking a proactive stance combined with self reliance can help handle and overcome anxiety panic attacks

Anxiety panic attacks occur generally as a response to various undesirable and discomforting situations. Sudden occurrences of rapid heart rate, sweating and shortness of breath are typical in anxiety panic attacks and it can strike almost any person. Other symptoms such as trembling, chills, rapid heart rate, dizziness and faintness occur as a response to stress situations such as attending an interview or making public appearances/speeches. These attacks may also catch you unaware while driving, while in a mall or even when sleeping.

Going crazy or about to die?

Dangerous symptoms of anxiety panic attacks are heart pain and in some cases a sense of impending death. Anxiety panic attacks may push you to the point that you think you are going crazy or even about to die. These are characteristic symptoms of anxiety panic attacks. Intense anxiety panic attacks often lead to fear of an impending attack. This fear of fear leads further to panic attacks and a vicious cycle of fear ensues.

You are not alone in your quest

The symptoms of anxiety panic attacks are physical and anxiety sufferers often mistake their condition for a medical illness. A patient suffering from a panic attack therefore will not go crazy or die regardless of the symptoms. An unbelievably large percentage(about three fourths) of people have had at least one incidence of an anxiety panic attack

Fear of fear

When the anxiety panic attack is severe, it is an extremely distressing experience and greatly traumatizes the sufferer. All kinds of irrational fears and phobias arise and the fear of an attack in future looms large. Fear of an attack can hamper normal activity and is often as damaging as an attack itself. This fear born out of an earlier attack can by itself lead to a new attack.

Anxiety over dose

Anxiety is embedded in the human system as a normal reaction to stress. It helps one deal and cope with tense situations. But when anxiety becomes excessive and results in irrational fear of daily routines it becomes a disabling disorder. As a result of fear of a future attack or fear of a particular condition a person may find it difficult to pursue normal life. This leads to withdrawal syndrome which in turn may lead to another attack.

Types of anxiety disorders

Several types of anxiety attack disorders are present in everyday life. These are generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, phobia, post-traumatic stress disorder, and social anxiety disorder. All of these can be overcome with medications, psychotherapy, counseling and other therapies.

Seeking effective solutions

Fear of an impending attack is the main dampener in the process of cure of panic attacks. It is extremely important to overcome this fear and confront anxiety panic attacks with a preplanned course of action rather than running away from it. This will effectively lead to cure. Proactive people are less prone to anxiety panic attacks. Seeking effective long term solutions rather than medications or other forms of treatment will truly help combat and overcome anxiety panic attacks and the related fears.

One of the secrets to minimizing an anxiety attack is to learn to work your way through the anxiety attack. Anyone who has ever undergone the panic and suffering that accompanies an anxiety attack knows the feeling of fear that is pretty much indescribable to anyone who has not experienced this sensation. Follow these tips to help work yourself through the anxiety attack:

Realize that it is anxiety attack

Once you realize that you are having an anxiety attack, you can calm yourself down and think that rationally, this will pass. Anyone who suffers with anxiety understands the sensation comes and goes. When you are having an anxiety attack, realize that this is real, it is a panic attack, but it will go away. Realizing that you are having an anxiety attack is the first step towards working your way through an anxiety attack.

Do something physical

Exercise, clean, cook or do anything that will get your mind off of the attack. Some people report that even cleaning their bathroom will help them through an anxiety attack. Any physical activity releases endorphins and elevates your mood. It can also help you work through your stress, which is usually the underlying cause of an anxiety attack. Do not feel helpless, empower yourself by doing something physical, the more productive the better.

Reach out to your support network

Reach out to friends and family who understand what you are going through. This is not an effort to look for pity, but a chance for your friends and family to help you when you need it the most. You would do the same for them, so give them the chance to help you.

Many people are ashamed that they are feeling anxious and keep this secret from friends and family. This only makes things worse. You will not have anyone to talk to when needed. And when you finally release your secret, you will be surprised to learn how many people actually suffer from the same anxious feelings! You are far from alone when it comes to anxiety attacks. As a matter of fact, the majority of people have experienced some sort of anxiety or panic attack at least once in their lives.

By understanding the anxiety attack, knowing what it feels like and that it will pass, you can help yourself overcome the feelings of a panic attack. Doing something physical and reaching out to your support network will also help you overcome an anxiety attack. Use medication as a last resort instead of at once. You can empower yourself against anxiety attacks and do not have to be held a prisoner of crippling fear of the unknown.

Anxiety disorders plague many Americans and people all over the world. Each disorder has its own unique set of symptoms and no two are identical; however, there is one symptom of an anxiety disorder that can occur no matter what your condition; the panic attack. Anxiety panic attacks happen and with them come an array of different reactions. Educating yourself on what a panic attack is may be the best way to prevent them.

An anxiety panic attack is a symptom of different anxiety disorders. If you suffer from them, then it’s important to understand what they are. An attack is when a person’s anxiety and stress levels balloon to a point where they cannot control it. They quickly begin to fear their surroundings, fear they are dying, having a heart attack, or are going crazy. It is a cognitive episode where your mind will tell your body it is experiencing discomfort that likely doesn’t exist and can last from one minute to fifteen minutes. Often an attack will cause a person to live in fear of the next attack, which only worsens the symptoms.

Experiencing an anxiety panic attack can send anyone into a frenzy, and people with anxiety disorders know how crippling they are. Instead of living your life in fear you can learn how to control them. Anxiety panic attacks usually come on unexpectedly to most people, but what if there was some way you could know it was coming? There are triggers or patterns present when a person is about to have an attack. If you know these, then you could learn to prevent them. If you find yourself having an attack, then the best thing to do is to make yourself stress free and start speaking out loud in a positive manner.

There are plenty of other ways to get your anxiety panic attacks under control. Consider using something like yoga, which is not only good for your body but good for your mind as well. Tai Chi is also good for stress management. There are many other simple things that can help put your mind at ease, such as listening to calming music or reading a good book. All of these can help and if you learn to institute them as soon as you feel an attack coming on, then you may be able to avoid an attack all together. Panic attacks don’t have to take over your life, especially if you take them over first!

You need to understand that there is a difference between stress and anxiety. Stress comes from the pressures we feel in life, as we are pushed by work or any other task that puts undue pressure on our minds and body, adrenaline is released, extended stay of the hormone causes depression, a rise in the blood pressure and other negative changes and effects.

Anxiety is one of these negative effects. With anxiety, fear overcomes all emotions accompanied by worry and apprehension, making a person a recluse and a bagful of jitters. Other symptoms are chest pains, dizziness, and shortness of breath and panic attacks.

Stress is caused by an existing stress-causing factor or stressor. Anxiety is the feeling of stress that continues once the source of the stress is removed. Stress can come from any situation or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry, nervous, or even anxious. What is stressful to one person is not necessarily stressful to another.

Anxiety is a feeling of apprehension or fear and is almost always accompanied by feelings of impending doom. The cause of the feeling of uneasiness is not always recognized, which can to your sense of distress.

Stress is the way our bodies and minds react to something which upsets our normal balance in life; an example of stress is the response we feel when we are frightened or threatened. Stress affects people differently, for some even the simplest decisions seem like an uphill battle. Deciding what to have for dinner or what to buy at the store, is a seemingly, monumental dilemma for them. On the other hand, many people become highly productive in a stressful situation and thrive under pressure.

Anxiety, on the other hand, is a feeling of unease. Everybody experiences it when faced with a stressful situation, for example before an exam or an interview, or during a worrying time such as illness. It is normal to feel anxious when facing something difficult or dangerous and mild anxiety can be a positive and useful experience. However, for many people, anxiety interferes with normal life. Excessive anxiety can lead to other pyschiatric conditions, one of which is depression. Anxiety is considered abnormal when it is very prolonged or severe, it happens in the absence of a stressful event, or it is interfering with everyday activities such as going to work.
