How Do You Turn Setback Into Opportunity? – This is Time Sensitive

Great news. I just discovered Be Unsinkable and I felt I had to share it with you. But more on that in a second.

It’s funny but I always thought of myself as a positive, glass half full kind of person and my wife was just the opposite. In any situation, she would always be focusing on what could possibly go wrong. It’s been a thirty year mission trying to get her to be more optimistic. Then she was diagnosed with an incurable disease and I was the one who fell apart.

Stress Reduction Meditation Audio – An Update

stress relief meditation audioSome time ago, I wrote a post about using meditation for stress relief. What I have read recently has given me some new thoughts on the subject. The old post talked about the fact that although meditation can be a very effective and pleasant solution to the stress problem, it is not a quick fix.

The Stress Relief Meditation Audio Solution

You can escape from the effects of stress, quickly, safely and reliably. The solution is stress relief meditation audio. I have proven this for myself and it has become a part of my daily routine that I never miss. Technology is a part of our problem, keeping us always available and able to work anywhere. The current economic climate makes it all the harder to say no to this.

You feel under pressure all the time and there seems to be no way out of it. You never seem to get any ‘me time’ because there is always something else that you have to do. If you get a few minutes to yourself, you just sit in front of the TV watching the latest depressing news and maybe you get yourself a little drink. But you don’t really relax and you don’t feel any relief.

It doesn’t have to be like this. There are some great meditation audio programs available that can help to make the most of those spare few moments that would normally just be wasted. They come in several different types and there is something to suit every personality and every situation. They range from the ones that help you to do traditional forms of meditation, to those that do the whole thing for you.

stress relief meditation audioIf you have never tried meditation, you may not be aware of how deeply relaxing and refreshing it can be. Maybe you have no desire to try it and anyway, lack of time is your problem. How can the solution be to do something that takes up even more time? Well, you don’t have to ‘learn’ to meditate anymore. There is technology that actually does it for you. It is called binaural beat technology.

It puts you into a deep meditative state without you having to do anything except where your headphones for a few minutes. Don’t watch the news and get more stressed. Kick back and really relax. There are all kinds of this kind of program in different formats, on CD and MP3. There are plenty of free trials around too, so you can check them out and find what works for you.

Another alternative is subliminal audio. Listen to soothing sounds while your brain is programmed to relax, be self confident, make money or any number of things. I was very skeptical about these but the ones that I have tried have been deeply relaxing, regardless of what ever else they were intended to do.

These stress relief meditation audio programs have been one of the great discoveries that came out of my period of ill health due to stress. I don’t go a day now without my dose of technological relaxation. In fact, I like to start the day like this and get my retaliation in first. Days tend to carry on in the way they begin, so I like to begin well.

Subliminal Audio – Can You Make Fast Changes In your Life?

Subliminal blue swhirlThe title of this post has a question mark because I have never been sure what to make of all these subliminal audio stories. I have heard of the, (old wives tales?), about them being banned from advertising because they are too powerful.  And then there have been all the ridiculous stories about playing records backwards and being compelled to go on a shooting spree.

I never believed that stuff, but as to whether they work at all, I was not so sure. I had never really had the chance to try them out until recently. I got sent a link to a free download. It was on a site belonging to Real Subliminals and they have a whole range of tracks that can apparently help you in all kinds of ways.

The free sample they offer, in exchange for your email, is called Deep Calm. It seemed like a good fit for me so I decided to give it a go. The thing is though, they were so inexpensive, I decided to take a punt on another one. Having secretly harbored a desire for wealth, I bought ‘Attract Money in Abundance’ and I got ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ free. So now I’ve got 3 of them to check out.

I know that an important part of the law of attraction is to focus on what you want, rather than on what you don’t want. Being grateful for what you have is a good way to stay positive. So the attracting money and gratitude audios are a good fit. Being relaxed and stress free also helps you to maintain a resourceful state and come up with the right ideas that are going to help you to get things done.

So what are these things like? For each audio, there are four tracks, each of roughly ten minutes. The first three have different types of pleasant sounds and the fourth is silent. I believe that each one has different parts of a subliminal script being spoken outside of conscious awareness. The sounds are things like breaking surf, water lapping against the side of a boat or countryside sounds with birdsong.

The silent tracks allow you to get the benefit of the subliminal messages while doing other stuff. Having said that, I like to have the other tracks playing while I work on my computer. They seem to blend in to the background and don’t disturb my concentration at all. In fact I find it helpful and very pleasant.

But the important thing is, do they work? Some testimonials on the website report remarkable things happening soon after people started to use them. I did have some money come in, but I would rather attribute that to work I had done earlier. Whether they will help to be more financially productive in the future remains to be seen.

One thing I can say about them is that they are certainly very relaxing. I can play any of the three audio sets and I almost immediately feel calm and relaxed. I am not sure if that is due to the hidden messages or just the sounds themselves. I don’t really know what would constitute a fair trial. As far as the subliminal audio messages are concerned, the jury is still out.

One product I came across offered subliminal cures for depression. Having suffered depression myself, I would be very wary of this one. I would be deeply skeptical about its effectiveness. it could even be potentially dangerous if it encouraged a patient to give up other treatments. Real Subliminal do not offer anything like this, which I think is a good thing.

I do think it is worth getting their free download. Those few minutes of calm can be priceless. For those who want to go further with this technology, they now offer the option to create your own subliminal recordings. I do know that it is supposed to be more powerful if you use your own voice with this sort of technology.

I have just spent the day at an awesome event presented by Mike Dooley of ‘The Secret‘ fame. It was part of his World Tour III – Playing the Matrix and Getting What You (Really) Want.

It took place in Manchester in the UK but the tour continues into 2011. If it comes to a city near you, I highly recommend going along.

The matrix by  Mike Dooley is an elegantly simple chart illustrating his model of the true nature of reality and the flow of creation.

It totally resonated with me and gave me a whole new perspective on setting and achieving goals.

Everything is based on the belief that THOUGHTS BECOME THINGS. If you do not believe that what is in your life has been created by the way you have thought in the past, then this is not for you.

If you do accept that you do manifest your reality and want to be able to do it consciously, that is what the Matrix is all about.

I have always had great difficulty with traditional goal setting methods. Life is divided into five or sometimes seven areas.

You are supposed to set goals in each area for one year, three years, five years, ten years etc. Most of these goals seem to revolve around stuff and the point of setting the goals is to get you excited.

I sit down to write them and I feel depressed. I need to make a list of about 42 things and then read the list several times a day.

Well, 42 things is just too many to think about and I don’t even want most of them anyway. But you have to do this process or something terrible will happen.

Then there is the question of do you keep focusing on these things or do you visualize and emotionalize them and then let them go. There seems to be some disagreement among the self help gurus. The matrix takes care of all this.

You get to decide what you REALLY want, which is not actually the stuff and you can express it in a few short phrases. These are the big picture end results that you are looking for. They are general enough that you can last a lifetime without having to change them. These are what you are attached to.

Then you can get down to some of the details like the house or the car or the zero gravity chair (that’s one of mine). These, you get pictures of and stick them on your fridge. Visualize them as if you already own them. Feel what it is like to use them and get excited. This is where you put the emotion in.

But this is not what you are attached to. You have left it open to the Universe to provide something so much bigger and better that you couldn’t even imagine it. And when all this is in place, you take action. It doesn’t have to be a perfect action.

In mike’s words, ‘Do whatever you can, with whatever you’ve got, from wherever you are. It may not seem to leading towards your dream, but just choose the least worst option and get started. Do all the nonspiritual, boring basic stuff.

Your job is just to pitch the balls. You never know which one the Universe is going to knock out of the park. But you’ve got to be in the game. The more things you do, the more opportunities there are for one of them to lead somewhere.

The trick is to not be attached to the details. The path that leads to your big, general goal might be an entirely unexpected one, but who cares. If you got the first part right, you are getting what you really wanted, not just the shiny stuff.

I probably haven’t put this across very well at all. You needed to be there. It is a day that is intriguing, inspiring and insightful. It is laced with humour and mike’s famous ‘Notes from the Universe’.

It is not one of these Tony Robbins style events where you come away totally pumped, but it just wears off after a few days. I left  with a quiet certainty that I know what I am doing now. I know how to work with the flow of the Universe to get what I REALLY want.

Rhonda Byrne and the producers of The Secret did a good job in bringing the law of attraction to a wider audience but they only scratched the surface. Mike Dooley gives you the tools to put it into practice. The best part is that it doesn’t seem like a chore. It can be fun and you don’t need to obsess about it.

Omega 3 Fish Oil And Depression

Pure fish oil capsulesUnless you live in a cave in some remote part of the world, you can’t fail to be aware of the buzz surrounding omega-3 fish oil supplements. They have grown in popularity of the last few years, to become one of the most commonly used supplements around.

  • Their list of alleged health benefits are legendary.
  • Heart disease prevention
  • Digestive system
  • Brain function
  • Joint care
  • Skin and hair health
  • vision

The list goes on. The is a substantial body of evidence for some of these health boosting claims, particularly in the area of heart disease. Omega-3 is beneficial for those who have no history of heart disease, as well as those who are at risk or recovering from a heart attack.

What has been  less well documented and more questioned is the effect on the brain and cognitive functioning. But recent research is giving more credence to this too. And more relevantly here, scientists are beginning to link some psychological conditions with lowered levels of omega-3.

Some people who tend to suffer from depression  have been found to be deficient. Some scientists believe that other conditions may benefit form a boost in omega-3. A new study will look into whether it can prevent the development of bipolar disorder in children.

A recent Austrian study showed that fish oil supplements seemed to prevent teens and young adults at-risk for developing schizophrenia from the onset of full blown psychosis.

There have been many anecdotal reports from people who feel that their mood, memory and concentration have improved. These have been looked on with a degree of skepticism in the past but are beginning to look more realistic now.

I know that since my own bout of depression a couple of years ago, my memory has been considerably worse than it used to be. I mean, to the extent of not being able to recall the names of people that I work with.

I have found a source for what I believe is the best omega-3 supplement available and I will be trying it out over the next few months.

My wife has MS and other sufferers have reported improvements in balance and cognitive function. She will also be doing her own trial to see if she notices any benefit.

I should point out that some authorities still believe that we can get enough omega-3 from our diet, without resorting to supplements. My response would be that with the levels of obesity going through the roof, we are not that great at taking care of our diet.

Give me the supplements.

There is a good free guide to buying omega-3 supplements. You can download it HERE.
