Do any panic attack solutions really work?

A very large number of people are the victims panic attacks every year. This is not a trivial matter. They can have a devastating effect on your daily life. The fear that another panic attack could happen is almost as bad as the attack itself. Knowing that one could happen at any time can make it hard to cope with work, social situations, driving and many aspects of normal life

Some doctors like to prescribe medication for panic attacks. But are they really a permanent solution? They can make you feel better in the short term and mask the symptoms, but they do nothing about the underlying causes of panic attacks. They will not prevent future panic attacks.

Talking therapies like CBT are effective for some people, but they again have their short comings. A lot depends on the therapist having an understanding of the condition. They may teach techniques for dealing with a panic attack but not look at why they happen.

The triggers that spark off panic attacks in some people, have little effect on others. Why is this? Some of us have a higher level of general anxiety, that causes us to be more sensitized to these triggers. A permanent solution to panic attacks must also take this into account.

There is no instant solution to panic attacks. There are bound to be setbacks on the road to recovery. For a complete solution, the sufferer needs to help to deal with these, and even embrace them as a part of the healing process.

A really effective panic attack solution needs to:-

Take away the fear of the attack itself

Provide ways to reduce the underlying anxiety level

Help to smooth the path to permanent recovery

Are there any panic attack solutions that cover each of these areas and provide a permanent end to panic attacks? Even for people who believe they have tried everything. Read about the only panic attack solution I have experienced that really works.

A mind out of control

In the darkest days of my depression, one of the most frightening things that happened was when my mind seemed to be out of control. Thoughts raced through my head constantly and I couldn’t do anything about it. It was as if my mind wasn’t a part of me.

Have you ever had the experience of learning a foreign language and hearing a native speaker. You catch a word that you know and your mind runs off to check its internal database. By the time it comes back with the translation, you have missed the next 6 words and you can’t keep up with the conversation. That was happening to me internally.

Thoughts were running through my head so insanely quickly that I could only catch one occasionally. There was a conversation going on in my mind and I couldn’t understand it. It just wasn’t making sense to me. This went on for several days and it was at its worst when I tried to settle down to sleep. I was becoming physically and mentally drained. It was when I started to attend meditation classes that I started to have some periods of calm.

Meditation CDs are the answer

The classes were only once a week and I found it difficult to get the same results outside of the class setting. But then I found out about meditation CDs. By using headphones and playing a different tone into each ear, the brain is forced to produce the type of electrical signals associated with deep meditative states. This is known as entrainment and has been well established since the nineteen seventies.

The system that I first heard of was the Holosync Solution. This is a more industrial strength system than most. It is not just a quick fix. It is intended as a daily meditation practice. You work through progressively deeper levels, but don’t have to do the entire course. You can stop at any time and maintain the benefits you have already achieved.

Holosync is not the cheapest solution but I believe that the level of support and back up that comes with it justifies the price. I have chosen to reduce the cost by buying several levels together. I have the next 4 years or so covered. I am happy to know that that is taken care of as I have benefited greatly from using Holosync. I am much more physically relaxed and the best thing is that my mind is still. I don’t have thoughts running out of control all the time. I have periods of great tranquilty and when I need to think, I can do it with much more clarity.

Meditation has been an amazing discovery for me and I tend to tell everybody I meet that they should try it. And meditation CDs make it possible for everyone to fit it into their busy lifestyles. Those who say they don’t have time to meditate are exactly the ones who need it most.

How to Treat Panic Attacks

If you have experienced a severe panic attack, you will know how frightening it can be. It is all the more frightening when you don’t know what it is. My wife suffered several attacks over a period of more than a year. The medical profession was slow to recognize the problem and when it was finally identified, they offered no solutions. Luckily, we came across our own.

It was when she was in so much distress that I had to call an ambulance that we found out what the problem was. But the paramedics only focused on the physical symptoms. They reassured us that there was no physical danger and tried to get her to control her breathing and calm down. But the nature of a panic attack is that you are not in control.

No Advice

When the attack had subsided, they left, offering little advice about what we should do. They had told us that there was no point taking her to hospital as there was nothing they could do. We had no idea why these attacks came from nowhere, when she was sitting, apparently, relaxed. What we wanted to know was how to prevent panic attacks in the future. I found the answer by chance when I was looking for something else.

The Panic Away Program

It was in the form of a book called The Panic away Program, (It is due to be retitled, ‘The Anxiety Release Method‘). As soon as I saw the website, it struck a chord. Some of the symptoms it talked about were exactly what my wife had experienced. There were many testimonials from people who had been helped by it. I had no idea there were so many people who continued to suffer, despite apparently trying everything. Some people had been having these attacks for years, totally disrupting their lives. At least we weren’t alone.

A Useful Website

The website offers a lot of useful information and you can get more free advice by email. There is also a facility to ask questions about any concerns you may have. It is written by a former panic attack sufferer who, when he couldn’t find a cure , developed this one himself. I think this is why what he says rings true. He talks about one of the main problems with panic attacks being the fear that you will have another one. That was exactly how my wife felt. Any little unusual sensation or dark thought and she would imagine that another one was on the way. Then that would start a downward spiral. The way he wrote about it, it was as if he was talking to us. We had to get the book.

Visit the site

It is quite a long book with a lot of background information and scientific stuff. Doctors disagree on the causes of panic attacks and on how to treat them. This book offers one of the more reasonable explanations I have heard of why they happen. There is also a reassuring section on why they can’t really hurt you and what is actually happening to your body. I think it needs this preamble because otherwise we would be asking, ‘if it’s that simple, why aren’t the doctors offering it’.

What’s in the Book?

The actual method is in three stages. The first covers what is known as the ‘One Move Technique‘. This involves a taking a totally different mindset when you feel an attack beginning. This is not at all what you might expect and takes some getting your head around. But it really does help to overcome that barrier of fear. It helps you to take back control during an attack and reduce the fear of future attacks.

The second stage is about addressing the generalized anxiety level that makes you susceptible to panic attacks. In this more sensitized state, little triggers that wouldn’t bother the average person can start the cycle of fear. There are many little, not too difficult, lifestyle changes that can reduce this anxiety down to a normal level.

The third stage is about making the change permanent. Here, it is explained that this is not an instant solution. If you have suffered for years, you can’t expect to change in minutes. There are likely to be setbacks. But this is part of the healing process. The book offers advice on how to persist and not be discouraged by these bumps in the road.

The Conclusion

After a thorough explanation of how to prevent panic attacks, the last part of this section goes back to what they are all about. It talks about some of the physical sensations that people have and the fears that these produce, like, ‘Am I going mad’, or ‘Am I having a heart attack’. And it gives reassurance that these are usually perfectly natural and nothing to be alarmed about.

The book ends on a note of hope. No matter what your personal history, it is possible to prevent your panic attacks and claim your life back. My wife is so much more positive having used these techniques and I believe that seeing her gripped by fear is a thing of the past. If you are a sufferer or know someone who is, visit the site and at least get the free information.

The Panic Away Program

P.S.

I forgot to mention the videos. I am an avid reader and had no problem with the book, but my wife is not. For people who aren’t so into reading, there is access to the content of the book in video format. I think this also helps to reinforce the learning even if you’ve read the book.

Also, if you don’t have anyone to support you through an attack, there is a friendly audio walk through of the technique. This really helps you to focus when you need it. we found it invaluable.

Visit the site

Anxiety disorders plague many Americans and people all over the world. Each disorder has its own unique set of symptoms and no two are identical; however, there is one symptom of an anxiety disorder that can occur no matter what your condition; the panic attack. Anxiety panic attacks happen and with them come an array of different reactions. Educating yourself on what a panic attack is may be the best way to prevent them.

An anxiety panic attack is a symptom of different anxiety disorders. If you suffer from them, then it’s important to understand what they are. An attack is when a person’s anxiety and stress levels balloon to a point where they cannot control it. They quickly begin to fear their surroundings, fear they are dying, having a heart attack, or are going crazy. It is a cognitive episode where your mind will tell your body it is experiencing discomfort that likely doesn’t exist and can last from one minute to fifteen minutes. Often an attack will cause a person to live in fear of the next attack, which only worsens the symptoms.

Experiencing an anxiety panic attack can send anyone into a frenzy, and people with anxiety disorders know how crippling they are. Instead of living your life in fear you can learn how to control them. Anxiety panic attacks usually come on unexpectedly to most people, but what if there was some way you could know it was coming? There are triggers or patterns present when a person is about to have an attack. If you know these, then you could learn to prevent them. If you find yourself having an attack, then the best thing to do is to make yourself stress free and start speaking out loud in a positive manner.

There are plenty of other ways to get your anxiety panic attacks under control. Consider using something like yoga, which is not only good for your body but good for your mind as well. Tai Chi is also good for stress management. There are many other simple things that can help put your mind at ease, such as listening to calming music or reading a good book. All of these can help and if you learn to institute them as soon as you feel an attack coming on, then you may be able to avoid an attack all together. Panic attacks don’t have to take over your life, especially if you take them over first!

Anxiety disorders are regrettably proving to be more common and there are several different side effects. One of these is the panic attack. Anxiety panic attacks are draining to numerous folks, causing them to feel helpless and often overwhelmed with emotion. If you have ever experienced these feelings, then you realize how important they are to control. Read on for some coping strategies for panic attacks and discover more about them on the way.

An anxiety panic attack is a symptom of several anxiety disorders. If you suffer from them, then it is essential to understand what they are. An attack is when the anxiousness together with stress levels in a person balloon to a stage where they are unable to control it. They rapidly begin to fear their surroundings, fear they are dying, having a heart attack, or are going crazy. It is a cognitive sequence where your mind will tell your body that it is experiencing a likely non-existent discomfort. The experience can last for a period of one minute up to fifteen minutes. Frequently an attack will cause an individual to live in fear of the next attack, which simply exacerbates the symptoms.

Going through an anxiety panic attack can send anybody into delirium, and people with anxiety disorders recognize only too well how crippling they are. Rather than living your life in fearfulness you can learn how to control them. Anxiety panic attacks ordinarily come on out of the blue to the majority of folk, but what if there was some means you could know it was coming. There are certain patterns or triggers present when a person is about to have an attack. If you recognize these, then you could learn to prevent them. If you find yourself having an attack, then the best thing to do is to make yourself stress free and start mouthing loudly in a positive manner.

You can take the controlling techniques to the next level in order to get rid of your anxiety panic attacks. You can begin by teaching yourself relaxation practices. You should opt for something that is right for you. Several of the more popular options are listening to relaxing music, reading and practicing yoga. Once you understand what an anxiety panic attack is and what to do to bring them under control, your life should be on the road to recovery. Anxiety disorders can make life complex but with a clear mind and a lot of determination you should be able to manage whatever they throw your way.

Anxiety panic attacks happen and with them come an array of different reactions. Educating yourself on what a panic attack is may be the best way to prevent them.

An anxiety attack is a symptom of various anxiety disorders. If you suffer from them, then it’s important to understand what they are. An attack is when a person’s anxiety and stress levels balloon to a point where they cannot control it. They suddenly begin to fear their surroundings, fear they are dying, having a heart attack, or are going crazy.
